AKCLZ Board Members

All Kids Can Learn Zambia is a board in Zambia that oversees the ministry here.  Recently we had a lunch meeting with two of the members, Batuke Walisuka, and Liz Daka Mbusi.  These wonderful, professional ladies took time out of their busy schedules so that we could share with them and ask for their advice and input on matters.  The work here takes the prayers, wisdom, and involvement of many people both in the US and especially here in Zambia.  We are thankful to God for the relationships we have with so many who share the vision of caring for orphans and vulnerable children in the context of striving for self-sustainability.

Quick In-Quick Out

We recently hired Elijah Moseni to head the food services businesses.  We already had a “Take-away” or restaurant.  The 20+ truckers who park each night in our car park eat there.  In addition, folks going by on the Great North Road during the day stop.

Elijah has been working on 2 other endeavors.  Quick In-Quick Out has transformed the Hope Market into a fast food restaurant.  A menu has been developed that will be put in many of the big buses that travel up and down the Great North Road.  The driver’s “conductor” will take orders from passengers, call it in ahead of time and as they pass, the buses will pull in and quickly get their orders.

Last Friday, the Quick In-Quick Out was open for business.  Although the bus business hasn’t started, the menus are ready to print.  The staff has been trained to respond to customers quickly.  Maureen has made all the uniforms.  Felix has painted all the signs.  The food is being prepared.  The access road has been improved.  And now you can join us in prayer for lots of business!!  All proceeds go to the support of the Village and the School.

The next report on this will be about the new “Garden Café.”
